The Canyon Floor

The floor of the canyon is reached as a small creek is traversed by hopping rocks.

Many rocks and sand make the trail hard to follow.

Oak Creek - Upstream view

In this area the creek was too high from recent rain to hop the rocks.

At this point, we took a side trip down the side of the stream. We then hiked back to the bridge and drove to the other end of Huckaby Trail to complete the hike.

The creek deepens and flows through a narrow area between two boulders.

View of of Midgley Bridge from floor of canyon.

Since the stream was too high to cross. We hiked back up to the Midgley Bridge VIsta.  Steamboat Rock can be seen on the horizon.

After Midgley Bridge Vista is reached, we traveled to the Huckaby Shnebly Hill trailhead and hiked the trail from the other end.
